Ortave
— Catalogue Origin / Est. 2019

Foundation Notes.
The Ortave Archive.

Ortave began as an internal reference document — a structured record of ingredient research compiled for men navigating an overcrowded supplement market. What started as a private compendium has since grown into a publicly accessible catalogue, maintained with the same rigour applied from the outset.

A Catalogue Built on Documented Evidence

The supplement market for men presents a persistent challenge: claims are abundant, independently verifiable data is sparse. Ortave was assembled to address that gap directly. Each entry in the catalogue is supported by a documented ingredient source, a batch verification reference, and a stated compositional rationale — rather than a marketing proposition.

The catalogue covers formulations relevant to men engaged in regular physical activity, with particular attention to mineral complexes, adaptogen profiles, and whole-food sourced micronutrient blends. Coverage is updated as new batch data becomes available and as the independent research base evolves.

No brand partnerships influence catalogue inclusion. A formulation's presence reflects documented compositional quality, not commercial relationship.

— Editorial Approach

Precision Over Volume

Ortave maintains a deliberate curatorial stance. The catalogue does not aim for comprehensive market coverage; it aims for reliable coverage. Each formulation entry takes approximately four weeks to complete — from initial ingredient-source mapping through to final third-party verification review.

Entries are written in technical register and reviewed against published nutritional research before publication. Where research remains inconclusive on a given ingredient's role, that ambiguity is noted explicitly rather than resolved with approximation.

02
Core Principles

How the Catalogue Operates

01 / Transparency

Ingredient Transparency

Every formulation entry discloses the full ingredient profile, sourcing geography where documented, and the compositional rationale for each active constituent. Proprietary blends without disclosed ratios are noted but not assessed.

02 / Verification

Batch-Level Review

Catalogue entries reference available batch-verification documentation. Where third-party analysis certificates are publicly accessible, they are cited directly. Formulations without batch documentation are flagged accordingly within the entry record.

03 / Independence

Editorial Independence

Ortave does not accept sponsored catalogue placements, affiliate arrangements, or promotional fees. Inclusion and assessment reflect the documented compositional record only. The catalogue is funded independently.

04 / Scope

Men's Nutrition Focus

The catalogue scope is defined by relevance to men's everyday nutritional requirements: mineral intake, energy metabolism support, active recovery, and consistent daily routines. The scope does not extend to performance-enhancing compounds or substances requiring specialist supervision.

05 / Updates

Living Documentation

Catalogue entries are handled as living documents. When a formulation's ingredient profile changes, when new batch data emerges, or when the published research base shifts materially, the corresponding entry is revised and the revision date noted.

06 / Language

Technical Register

Entries are written in a technical but accessible register. The aim is to convey compositional information accurately without requiring a specialist background to interpret it. Terminology is defined in context where it is likely to be unfamiliar to non-specialist readers.

Catalogue History

Documented Progress

2019
Internal Reference Compiled

Initial formulation records assembled for private use. Coverage: 12 mineral complex formulations and 8 adaptogen blend entries. Format: spreadsheet with sourcing notes.

2021
Catalogue Structure Formalised

Records converted to a standardised catalogue schema. Ingredient sourcing fields, batch reference fields, and compositional rationale fields added. Entry count expanded to 47 formulations.

2023
Third-Party Verification Layer Added

Independent batch-verification documentation integrated as a mandatory field for new entries. Retrospective verification data gathered for existing entries where publicly available.

2024
Public Catalogue Launched

Ortave made available to the public as a freely accessible reference resource. Entry total: 83 formulations across mineral complexes, whole-food blends, plant-based isolates, and adaptogen profiles.

2026
Ongoing — Revision 07 Active

Current revision cycle in progress. New formulations under assessment: 14. Entries under revision due to updated batch data: 6. Projected completion: Q3 2026.

— What the Catalogue Is Not

Scope Boundaries

Ortave is a reference catalogue, not a purchasing platform. No pricing data, retail links, or stockist information appears in the catalogue entries. The catalogue does not make assessments of personal suitability — that determination rests with the individual and, where relevant, a qualified nutrition professional.

The catalogue does not cover substances regulated as recommendation-only compounds, nor substances associated with doping classifications. The scope is strictly limited to food-grade nutritional supplements available through standard UK retail channels.
